Japanese born, Berlin-based Techno DJ Hito launches a series of self-curated parties at IPSE in Berlin starting August 10. Named OTO, Japanese for Sound.
All artists will play on Richie Hawtin’s PLAYdifferently MODEL 1 mixer of which Hito is an ambassador. She loves to introduce the instrument to new artists and enjoys sharing the unbeatable sound quality with her peers and the crowd.
Hito aims to bring together all of her worlds in her favourite Berlin club with an aim to create an atmosphere on the dance floor that only comes when friends and family gather together to share their creativity under one roof.
Bringing a mix of upcoming and established artist friends and associates from Japan, Germany and the rest of the world, merging cultures between like minded and musically associated artists. Each line up will be carefully curated to demonstrate the talent she recognises on her travels as well as a special big name guest as a surprise for her audience.
Hito sees music as a way to unite through creating and sharing Techno in a pure and organic way, seeing performing as a way to manipulate the energy in the room and bring her crowd and guest DJs together.
Hito moved from Japan, from Himeji one of the traditional cities of Japan with the symobolic Himeji Castle, to Berlin where she felt welcomed and inspired to develop her music alongside the characters and friends she spent time with and began as a local Berlin DJ.
In 2008 she met Richie Hawtin, originally bonding through Sake, which began the development of her relationship with ENTER.Sake. Since then she has grown through the experiences and energy of Berlin, and now 18 years later she feels ready to present her own offering to the town she now calls home.
